How to visualize your next best performance

10 Steps to Visualization
Visualization is an effective way to build confidence, prepare for competition, and has even been used as a way to improve technique/skill. The steps below are an example of a visualization routine, this takes practice. Use what works for you and modify for your own game.
1. Find a calm, relaxing space and spend a few minutes just to slow down your thoughts
2. Take a few deep breaths in and out, be present (aware of feelings, thoughts) and accept them
3. Begin by putting yourself in the training or game situation you want to visualize
4. What do you see? what do you feel? what do you hear? what do you smell?
5. Run through your minds eye, and visualize success in whatever you do
6. After the action or moment, visualize how it looks to be succesful, and how it feels
7. When the moment ends, slow down your mind again, and replay
8. Each time try to focus on more detail, add opponents/teammates, coaches, fans, whatever you can to make the visualization more authentic
9. If negative thoughts or images creep on, don't fight them just let them pass, and try again
10. Visualization always takes practice, don't worry if it doesn't work right away, just like real practice, keep at it!
